Long-time NAME member Larry Charny (NC) who worked for many years as the Director of the Medicaid Special Projects Unit for the New York City Department of Education, has collaborated with the New York State Association of School Business Officials ( ) to publish an article in a recent issue of their journal, The Reporter.

His article, “Leadership Strategies for Success with School-Based Medicaid Claiming-and Why it Matters”, reminds the readers that not just administrators of special education and Medicaid coordinators, but school business officials need to understand and actively participate in their district’s Medicaid school based services claiming program.
