The National Alliance for Medicaid in Education is pleased to announce the 2022 Spring Virtual Learning Series

February 9th, 2022 at 2:00PM ET  “COVID-19, ESSER and School Nurses UPDATE”, presented by Eva Stone

The COVID-19 pandemic had caused significant disruption to the education of children across the United States. Schools across the country have been struggling to determine best practices to support in-person learning as first the Delta variant and now Omicron has wreaked havoc across the globe. School Nurses play an important role in safely keeping schools open for in-person learning. This session will describe how one urban district used ESSER funds to finance 100 additional school nurses, the processes used to secure staff and the role they have played to help keep COVID-19 out of schools and students in.

1. Describe the role of school nurses in keeping schools open for in-person learning during the COVID-19 pandemic

2. Identify options for securing nursing staff
